"Mato’s music is everything that good Indigenous art is right now. We are in a renaissance and his music speaks directly to that movement. Tufawon (2 for 1)

Tufawon (2 for 1) is a Dakota/Boricua recording artist, singer/songwriter, and producer from Minneapolis. His name is a representation of his mixed identity, and his music is an honest reflection of his life experiences and personal struggles, his hopes and dreams for the future, spirituality and connectedness to the land, love, and the realities of the world we live in. He has put his life on the line to protect water and our planet. He has recently reinvented his style and sound and you can hear this clearly in his recently released album Until The Sun Comes Up, a full-length album of love songs he wrote through his experience with heartbreak. He sang over every song and produced the entire record. The production style is a blend of dancehall, reggaeton, and afrobeat influences. This was a defining moment in Tufawon's career as he can now call himself a singer/songwriter and not solely a hip hop artist.

A$h Da Hunter

A$h Da Hunter is from Arizona, and just like the Phoenix, she has risen from the ashes of reservation life. As a member of the Yavapai-Apache Nation and a blood descendant of the Hopi people, she has come from ceremonies in the desert to blessings on the mic.

As a native female rapper, she has evolved her love and passion for putting her lyrics, accompanied by amazing unique beats, to share her culture and lifestyle. Music has always had a strong influence in her life, and she uses it as a platform to express herself freely. A$h Da Hunter’s lyrics are candid and unapologetic.

“To say hip hop saved my life isn’t an exaggeration. Music has always been a great escape for me. Being a kid from the reservation, being so isolated on tribal lands, music was the connecting force to keep me updated on what’s happening now, music made me feel relevant.” - A$h Da Hunter

He goes from producing Indie Jammers, upbeat funk tunes, and even oldies and soul-influenced classics to helping score soundtracks on major television programs. This well-rounded individual is ready to take the world by storm, even if it's just one tree-hop at a time.
